Eligibility

Academic Standing

Nigerian Educational Act Pre-School,​ ​specifies​ ​that​ ​children​ ​are​ ​eligible​ ​for​ ​Reception Pre-School​ ​based​ ​on​ ​their​ ​age.​ ​To be​ ​eligible​ ​for​ ​2-year-old​ ​Reception,​ ​a​ ​child​ ​must​ ​be​ ​2​ ​by​ ​September​ ​1​ ​of​ ​the​ ​school​ ​year.​ ​To​ ​be​ ​eligible​ ​for 5-year-old​ ​kindergarten,​ ​a​ ​child​ ​must​ ​be​ ​5​ ​by​ ​September​ ​1​ ​of​ ​the​ ​school​ ​year.

Victoryland Smart ​Schools ​2-year-old​ ​Reception ​is​ ​designed​ ​to​ ​be​ ​a​ ​one​ ​year​ ​program.​ ​​

If​ ​a​ ​parent​ ​or​ ​legal​ ​guardian wishes​ ​to​ ​have​ ​a​ ​child​ ​repeat​ ​2-year-old​ ​Reception Class,​ ​the​ ​parent(s)​ ​or​ ​legal​ ​guardian​ ​would​ ​be​ ​required​ ​to​ ​meet with​ ​the​ ​​Student Intervention Team consisting​ ​of​ ​the​ ​principal,​ ​school​ ​psychologist,​ ​school​ ​counselor,​

intervention staff,​ ​and​ ​current​ ​classroom​ ​teacher​ ​to​ ​discuss​ ​the​ ​needs​ ​of​ ​the​ ​child​ ​which​ ​would​ ​support​ ​the​ ​need​ ​for​ ​their​ ​child to​ ​repeat​ ​5-year-old​ ​kindergarten.
